Finally I was able to get a right kernel 2.6.22 compiled for ubuntu gutsty i386 patched with openvz.
the deb package is available here.
I will test it and I would be glad if someone else will test it too…
Instructions:
- download deb file linked above (do not install it on production system)
- install with: dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.22-ovz005-funkgui_i386_v01.deb
- reboot
- instal packages for openvz (comando: apt-get install vzctl vzquota)
- reboot and… TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST
Soon available other version of compiled kernel.

Could you compile desktop version of ovz kernel (with sound support and so on) ?
Or could you give me your patch ?

in these days I’m too busy to recompile…
to get the server version I used the patch that you can download directly from http://openvz.org
be sure to download the kernel source from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.22.tar.bz2
because with the sources shipped with ubuntu does not work.
be sure to deselect checkpoint in the openvz section
